In honor of this place I am in after 10 sessions of Rolfing, of how the process transforms on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level. Of where I am today, right now calmer, more content, in my body and in my power. With a greater awareness of how to continue feeling this way. Strong in myself once again and ready for all new beginnings. Mahalo Sarah for your skill, guidance, support and passion for the 10 session journey. I am complete.

I’m probably a perfect candidate for Rolfing. I’ve had scoliosis since I was a teenager and bowed legs, too. Working on the computer all day has both caused and contributed to a host of aches, knots and/or stiffness in my arms, hands, legs, shoulders and back. My shoulder has been sore the past couple years with symptoms like a frozen shoulder.
In the past I have gone to an orthopedic surgeon, physical therapists, an acupuncturist, a chiropractor and a Chinese masseur, and they helped in limited ways in single parts of my body or not at all.
I’ve just finished the 7th of 10 session of Rolfing with Sarah, and I already can see significant improvement. Unlike other kinds of treatments, I feel like my whole body is being changed. Where my feet used to point outward at an angle when I stood or walked, they now point naturally forward. My hips don’t swing out to my left as much and they feel more even on both sides. My shoulders feel less rounded and tense and more upright. My left shoulder is much less sore and has more movement and can reach behind to my back where I couldn’t previously.
Whereas my body seemed to be fighting gravity, shooting out in different and competing directions from my head, out to my arms, out at my knees and shooting out from my toes, now it feels more integrated, more centered and working together as a whole. I feel more erect, more balanced and more relaxed as well. Visually, my husband sees the change in me even more than I can from my limited perspective in the mirror. He’s especially impressed that despite my scoliosis, my back looks straighter and hips seem more even. Even my legs seem slighter less bowed.
The sessions themselves are definitely intense, but the “pain” almost feels good in the sense that it feels like something is being righted. After each session I almost feel lighter.
I still have 3 sessions to go, but I think that this is one investment that is already paying dividends. Sarah is a wonderful Rolfer, and I highly recommend her work to anyone!

My experience with Rolfing was amazing. I did all ten sessions within about eight weeks. Many people have encouraged me for many years to go and do the ten sessions because of my posture, flexibility, and pain I dealt with on a daily basis. While serving in Iraq as a Captain in the Army I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which created debilitating pain in my body. I had also been an avid marathon runner and sports enthusiast and had undergone many injuries over the years. Even when I was getting massages at least twice a month, I noticed that within a few days I was always back to where I started.
A few months ago my massage therapist said I really need to do the rolfing because my body was even more out of alignment. Finally agreeing to do so, I began looking for a rolfer. I found Sarah and decided to take the leap. Looking back now I can clearly see that I should have done this about a decade ago and saved myself a great deal of time and money. A few weeks ago I returned to my massage therapist and she immediately noticed a huge difference. She said my spine and hips were straight and aligned; whereas before my spine looked like a “Z” and one hip was higher than the other. I feel much better, and I have a better understanding and relationship with my body. I have also gained confidence and ease with walking and movement again. If you are debating doing the ten sessions, go for it! You will thank yourself!
